The General Investigations Bureau and Special Investigations Bureau comprise the Investigations Division. General Investigations is charged with the responsibility to conduct follow-up criminal investigations and prepare cases for prosecution. This bureau includes:

The SRO Unit consists of a supervisor, six officers and a civilian investigative aide who are responsible for initial and follow-up investigations at all public schools (K-12) within the community. In addition, the SRO unit provides instruction at the schools on law enforcement related topics, conducts alcohol, tobacco and toluene sting operations near campuses and acts as the liaison unit with the criminal justice system for school administrators and faculty.

The Evidence Unit consists of a supervisor and three evidence technicians who are responsible for evidence collection and preservation. Supported by a state of the art and fully equipped motor home, the unit responds to all major crime scenes.
