Welcome to the City of Riverside! New residents can call the Solid Waste Division at 826-5311 and request an appointment to have unwanted items removed from their property (no charge).

Rules

Small items must be in plastic bags or containers. Tree trimmings must be tied and secured at both ends. Materials placed in trash cans (32 gallons) should not exceed a total weight of 75 pounds.

Appliances

Customers with stoves, washing machines, dryers and hot water heaters must identify the item(s) when the appointment is made. Appliances like refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners contain Freon and will not be collected due to strict Clean Air Act regulations regarding the handling of Freon.

How to Schedule Your Pickup

1. Call 826-5311 on Monday thru. Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
2. Place items at the curb (no alley service) before 5:30 a.m. on the appointment date.

Private Haulers/ Bulky Item Pickup
Some areas in Riverside receive residential collection services from the following private haulers that can be contacted at:

The City of Riverside’s Solid Waste Division and Burrtec offer bulky item pickup service for items that do not fit in trash containers. Customers can receive this service free of charge twice-a-year. (Not including move in special service, which only applies to customers serviced by City crews).

Please call the Solid Waste Division at 826-5311 for information regarding special services. After hour information and collection schedules can be obtained by calling 351-6070.
