Children walking and parents driving to and from school are the focus of this project aimed at meeting the needs of the school community by creating a safe traffic environment on the route to school.

We will be visiting with each school principal to discuss any school traffic concerns and work together to identify traffic problems and find solutions.
School Crossing Image   School signs will be replaced with new high visibility fluorescent yellow-green signs.
Streets next to the schools will be looked at to ensure that crosswalks, painted curbs and traffic signs are in the best locations for student safety.
Safe Kids   Crosswalks will be reviewed making sure they are in good repair and serving their purpose of helping students to cross the street at recommended locations.
Traffic signals will be re-checked to ensure that enough time is allowed for children to cross the street.
Contact the Traffic Engineering Division for more information, phone (951) 826-5366.
