PEDESTRIAN SAFETY

Pedestrian safety is of great concern to residents and the City. Walkable streets, where school children, pedestrians and bicyclists are safe, not endangered by traffic is of primary importance to everyone. Here are some of the services available to promote pedestrian safety.

SAFE ROUTE TO SCHOOL PROGRAM Through cooperative efforts between the City, School Districts and Parents, a safe route to and from school can be determined.

PEDESTRAIN AND BICYCLE SCHOOL SAFETY PROGRAM The Police Department offers education at the school age level to help children identify traffic hazards and develop safe pedestrian and biking habits.

CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION Marked crosswalks, pedestrian traffic signals, flashing beacons, stop signs, sidewalks.
