The Public Works Department is responsible for directing the planning, designing, constructing and maintenance of all streets, sewers, storm drains and traffic signals. The department is also responsible for solid waste collection and disposal, wastewater treatment, enforcement of the municipal codes and advance planning for public works related Capital Projects.


Proposed Sewer Rates and Charges
Notice of Public Hearing - Sept. 23

Notice is hereby given that pursuant to Article XIID of the California Constitution, The City of Riverside is proposing to adopt annual sewer service rate increases, Effective November 1, 2008, for sewer service to the parcel for which you are shown as record owner liable to pay such a rate.  The bases and reason for these increases are to enable the City to recover increasing operation expense, reduce the risk of sanitary sewer overflows by replacing damaged and aging portions of the collection system, improve the efficiency of sewage treatment process by replacing aging structures at the WQCP, and continue to upgrade sewage treatment equipment to meet Federal and State regulatory requirements

A public hearing was be held on September 23 for proposed sewer rate increases.


 

COMMERCIAL AND RESIDENTIAL SOLID WASTE SERVICES PROPOSED RATE STRUCTURE
City Enacts New Parking Restrictions for Commercial Vehicles
It is unlawful to park a commercial vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of 10,000 pounds or more and all commercial trailers or semi-trailers in any of the following locations:
On any public street, highway, road or alley within the City except for those locations designated by the City Traffic Engineer and identified by signs indicating commercial vehicle parking authorized.
(Municipal Code: 10.44.155)
