Crossing guards assist elementary school students going to and coming from schools in both the Riverside Unified School District and Alvord School District within the City. Guards are hired, trained and supervised by Crossing Guard Program Coordinators, who also coordinate scheduling and posting of crossing guards at locations determined by the respective school districts throughout the City.
