RIVERSIDE, CA – On Saturday, June 10, 2017, at approximately 11:00 PM, Riverside Police and Fire responded to a report of vehicle vs. pedestrian traffic collision on Archdale Street at Fielding Road in the City of Riverside. Officers determined a 2006 Toyota Tacoma, which was being driven by a 23 year-old Riverside resident, was east on Archdale St. approaching Fielding Rd. Among the occupants of the vehicle were two female passengers and two additional male passengers; all adults. According to witnesses, a male passenger (victim) in the rear seat of the truck, directly behind the driver, began exiting the vehicle’s open rear door while the vehicle was in motion. It appeared as though the 22 year-old victim was attempting to stand on the outside running boards of the truck but somehow lost his grip and fell from the vehicle. After the victim fell from the truck, the driver immediately stopped and notified police. The victim was transported to Riverside Community Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Officers from the Riverside Police Department M.A.I.T. were called to the scene and are investigating. The name of the decedent will be released by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office pending their investigation and notification of next of kin.
