The Housing Element of the General Plan 2025 addresses neighborhood quality, the supply and quality of housing, housing assistance, and special needs. Through the General Plan document, the city has a mandate to improve quality of life through housing, parks, land use, public services, transportation, etc.
A Notice of Preparation (NOP) of an Environmental Impact Report for the City’s Draft 2014-2021 Housing Element and the Housing Element Rezoning Program was made available for public review on April 12, 2017. There is a 30-day NOP public comment period (April 12, 2017 to May 11, 2017).

The purpose of this workshop is to inform and update the Planning Commission on the City’s 2014-2021 Housing Element update and the Housing Element Rezoning Program including an overview of State Housing Element law, the Housing Element process, progress to date, the approach for the Housing Element Rezoning Program and schedule and next steps. There will be opportunity for public input at this public meeting.
