Parking in Downtown Riverside

Parking in downtown Riverside during normal business hours is controlled by time limits and paid parking services such as curbside meters and city-managed lots and garages.

Types of Parking

  Offer hourly/visitor parking, monthly permit parking, reserved parking and metered parking.

• Curbside Metered Parking
  Available throughout downtown Riverside. Metered parking is also available in the Justice Center area, and consists of meter machines and single-space meters.

Justice Center Metered Parking uses the LUKE parking meters, offering improved customer convenience and reliability. With the LUKE parking meters you can:

Pay with bills, coins, tokens or credit cards
Pay at any meter for any space
Add time to a purchased space
Pay by cell phone (note your space number, and pay at any meter)

There is a vehicle parked in a red zone; can the city come out and cite the vehicle?
Yes, parking in a red zone is a violation of the Riverside Municipal Code and the vehicle will be cited. You can call the (dial 311) to report any parking violations.

The parking meter is broken, do I have to pay? What do I do? Will I receive a parking citation if I park there anyway?
If a single-space meter is broken it is suggested that you park elsewhere, unless there is a note on the meter you should be okay to park there. If you are parked in a stall where you pay at a machine, and the machine does not work, you can pay at any of the other machines by entering your stall number and following the directions on the machine.
