Riverside Raincross 5K Run/Walk at Historic Fairmount Park

The City of Riverside Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department is hosting the 7th Annual Riverside Raincross 5K Run/Walk at Historic Fairmount Park.

The Run/Walk will be held Saturday, February 23, 2013 from 7:30 – 10 a.m. (the 5K run will begin promptly at 7:30 a.m. and the Kids’ Heroes Run at 8:30 a.m.) at Fairmount Park, located at 2601 Fairmount Boulevard. The top three males and females in each age division will receive awards. All youth will receive a participation award.

Rhythm of Riverside Summer Concert Series

The City of Riverside Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department and Riverside Downtown Partnership present a series of FREE family-oriented band concerts at Fairmount Park located at 2601 Fairmount Boulevard. Concerts are themed in various genres. Come early and taste the flavor of Riverside from local food vendors. Bring a blanket or beach chair to enjoy an evening at Fairmount Park from 6 – 9 p.m. Children’s activities will be available for a nominal fee.

Riverside Sings! 5th Annual Vocal Competition Register Now!

The City of Riverside Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department is holding open auditions for the 5th Annual Riverside Sings Vocal Competition. Auditions will be held Tuesday, May 22 for youth 5 - 17 and Wednesday, May 23 for adults 18 and older. Auditions will be held at the Cesar Chavez Community Center located at 2060 University Avenue from 5:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. The top 14 in each age category (youth and adult) will perform and be judged at the Rhythm of Riverside Summer Concert Series.

The Rhythm of Riverside Summer Concert Series free event is held every Wednesday, June 20 – August 15 (excluding July 4) from 6 – 9 p.m. at Fairmount Park. The winners will receive cash and prizes valued over $1,000! Register online at www.riversideca.gov/park_rec or at your local community center.
