BabiesThe Solander Center's mission is “to decrease risk factors in the lives of children 5 and under, their families and the community.” Within the Solander Center is a WIC Office, and Arlanza Child Development Center. The WIC Office provides nutrition services and parent education for expectant mothers and children 5 and under. The Arlanza Child Development Center provides children 3 - 5 years of age affordable preschool. Parenting classes, family counseling, ESL (English as a Second Language),WIC Immunization and Childcare licensing classes are also provided.

The Arlanza Community Partnership, a multi-disciplinary collaborative, invites public, private, and community leaders and neighbors to participate in their monthly meetings,held the first Wednesday of each month at noon.

Project BRIDGE

Project BRIDGE (Building Resources for the Intervention and Deterrence of Gang Engagement) is a gang prevention, intervention and suppression program, the goal of which is to reduce the incidence of youth gang violence, gang membership, and gang related activities in the City of Riverside. This program provides various services to participants between the ages of 12 - 22. Project BRIDGE is located in the Cesar Chavez Community Center at 2060 University Ave.

Summer Food Program FREE
Kids Free for youth ages 18 and younger - Monday - Friday, June 25 - August 24
The Youth Summer Food Program provided by the California Department of Education Nutrition Services Grant. Contact a park location for lunch serving time and menu. The number of meals served is limited to a first-come, first-served basis.The Summer Food Program is held at all community centers, as well as Patterson Park (excluding Eric M. Solander and Janet Goeske).

PRIME Time and HALF Time After School Programs

(Partners in Riverside Investing in Middle School Education and Hours After School for Learning and Fun)
KidsThe Riverside (RUSD) and Alvord (AUSD) Unified School Districts, in cooperation with the City of Riverside, conduct a grant funded after-school program provides a variety of program at 11 elementary schools and 10 middle schools serving the city of activities such as arts and crafts, sports, Riverside. The program operates throughout the school year and the hours of group games, and more. Calendars of operation vary with each school site. The program includes an academic activities are available at your nearest component, tutorial, and many enrichment activities such as recreation, clubs, etc.  Schools are noted with an “A” for AUSD and “R” for RUSD.
