Indiana Autumn Ridge Apartments
Since 1998, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Riverside, in conjunction with the Riverside Housing Development Corporation (RHDC), has been purchasing fourplexes along Indiana Avenue between Jackson and Monroe streets in order to transform an area once sighted as "an absolute mess " and "a nightmare on Indiana" into an attractive, well-managed development.
Four of the fifteen fourplexes were demolished to make room for parking and green space; two fourplexes have just been acquired and are in the rehabilitation process; the remaining 36 units have been substantially rehabilitated. The renovation of the entire project - which included gating the area, planting trees, flowers, and other landscaping, and installing solar panels - is now in it's final stages.
The different units have various income restrictions: some are available only to households earning 50% of the County Median Income and below, while others are available to households earning up to 120% of the County Median Income (see Income Chart below). Many of the apartments at Autumn Ridge, as the apartments are now called, are already leased: however, interested households can apply to be on the waiting list (pending eligibility approval) by calling the manager's office at (951) 351-9180.
