The City of Riverside is currently working with Habitat for Humanity to create single-family homes for very-low-income families within the City of Riverside. Habitat for Humanity promotes community involvement and creates cost effective housing by utilizing volunteer workers and donated materials to build single family homes. Families are chosen by Habitat for Humanity and are required to put in 500 hours of "sweat equity" working on the house or other Habitat projects.
Homebuyer Orientations, generally the third Thursday of every month from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. These sessions will provide an introduction to the homebuying process and an overview of programs available to assist low income buyers.
Homebuyer's education for those about to purchase a home. These 8 hour trainings will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. the third Saturday of every month, and will give a comprehensive overview of the homebuying process.
Information on and referrals to a variety of homebuyer assistance programs provided by the City and County of Riverside.
One on one credit counseling to help repair bad credit (Please note: there is a fee of $59 for this service, which can be credited to closing costs upon purchase of a home).
