Homebuyer's Education Seminars

HousingThe Fair Housing Council of Riverside County is offering FREE monthly Homebuyer's Education Seminars to first-time homebuyers wanting to learn about the process of buying a home. Seminars explain the basics of the home-buying process, including credit repair, realtors, down payment assistance, financial planning, title reports, escrow, and home maintenance. Seminars are usually held the second Saturday of the month from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Fair Housing Council offices in Riverside.

Neighborhood Housing Services of the Inland Empire offers extensive services for prospective homebuyers, including:
  • Homebuyer Orientations, generally the third Thursday of every month from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. These sessions will provide an introduction to the homebuying process and an overview of programs available to assist low income buyers.
  • Homebuyer's education for those about to purchase a home. These 8 hour trainings will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. the third Saturday of every month, and will give a comprehensive overview of the homebuying process.
  • Information on and referrals to a variety of homebuyer assistance programs provided by the City and County of Riverside.
  • One on one credit counseling to help repair bad credit (Please note: there is a fee of $59 for this service, which can be credited to closing costs upon purchase of a home).
