The attention to detail, evident
in the restoration and furnishings of the house's interior, is
also apparent in the grounds and outbuildings. The carriage house
is original and actually predates completion of the house. Catharine
Bettner lived there for a time until the house was finished.

Other outbuildings, notably the barn and gazebo are new and
built to specifications typical of 1891. The barn, for instance,
features true-dimension, rough-cut lumber, square nails, and
a manner and appearance of construction documented to be typical
of Victorian-era Riverside.
