Ronald O. Loveridge is a man of many titles. Mayor, Professor,
Husband, Author, Father, Chairman, Regional Leader,
Congregational Church Member, Environmentalist, Historic Home
Owner, Humanitarian and Friend are only a few words to describe
the man devoted to public service in the City of Riverside.
Ron Loveridge has served as Riverside's Mayor since 1994. Prior
to his term as mayor, he was elected to the City Council and
served from 1979 to 1994. He is currently the 1st Vice
President for the National League of Cities.
Along with his devotion to the citizens of Riverside, Ron is
committed to the young people in this community. He has his
Masters Degree and Ph.D. in Political Science from Stanford
University and has taught since 1965 as a professor at
University of California, Riverside. Courses included American
Politics, Mass Media, Public Opinion, and Local Leadership in
California. He introduced college students to government through
field work/internship projects.
Ron Loveridge is an avid reader and hiking enthusiast. When not
running a meeting or discussing political philosophy, he is
enjoying a brisk walk in the outdoors. Ron’s favorite hike is up
Mt. Rubidoux which he has completed hundreds of times.
Ron shares his devotion to Riverside with his wife of 47 years,
Marsha. Both have dedicated numerous hours to such worthy causes
as the Dickens Festival, the Riverside Art Foundation and the
Riverside County Philharmonic. Together, Ron and Marsha have
raised two daughters, both graduating from North High School and
his youngest daughter graduating from UCR. |
