International Awards for Livable Communities

Mayor Loveridge recommends the City Council receive a presentation on the International Awards for Livable Community which focuses on Best Practices regarding the management of the local environment in 50 countries and is endorsed by the United Nations Environment Program. The City of Riverside was presented with a Silver Award in the category which ranged from 200,000 – 500,000 in population.
Resolution Supporting A High Speed Rail Alignment Along the I-215 Corridor

Mayor Loveridge and Councilmember Steve Adams recommend that the City Council adopt a resolution supporting an alignment of the California High Speed Rail (HSR) line along the I-215 corridor that include stations near March Air Reserve Base and the Downtown San Bernardino Transit Center.

Completion Counts – A Riverside Learning Partnership Report to the City Council

Mayor Loveridge recommends that the City Council approve a resolution forming a strategic partnership with Riverside City College and the Riverside and Alvord Unified School Districts known a Completion Counts – A Riverside Learning Partnership which was awarded a $3 million grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to lead a concerted effort to increase college-going and college-completion rates in Riverside.
