| In an effort to recognize and celebrate diversity in the City
of Riverside, the Mayor's Multicultural Forum adopted the "Building
a More Inclusive Riverside Community" statement in June of
2001. |
|
Based on the belief that Riversiders should collectively “assume
the responsibility of facing the challenges and embracing the opportunities
created by diversity”, the statement consists of individual,
group, and institutional commitments that can be made to ensure
the inclusion.
To date, various community organizations and institutions have
stated their dedication to an inclusive Riverside community by
endorsing the statement and participated in a workshop consisting
of discussion and training in embracing diversity.
We are currently in the process of implementing measures to
reward organizations that exemplify inclusion. We enthusiastically
welcome you to read the statement and make a firm commitment
to “Building a More Inclusive Riverside Community.” The
statement is also on display on the 7th floor of City Hall for
your viewing.
