Mission Statement: The mission of the Riverside Mayor's Commission on Aging is to enhance the quality of life for seniors in our community. We study local senior issues to learn about current programs, define future needs, and reference Best Practices. We then make recommendations to the Mayor and City Council on ways we think the City of Riverside can maintain and improve its status as a Senior-Friendly Community.

Senior Citizens Day

On Friday, August 19, 2016, the Commission on Aging is once again celebrating National Senior Citizens Day. This Reception and Ceremony is a day-long program recognizing those Riverside senior citizens who have made significant positive contributions to the community and so, we are asking for you to submit (nominate) someone who is worthy of this award. There will be a total of eight residents that will be honored on this day. The awards will be presented in an official ceremony at the Ysmael Villegas Community Center – 3091 Esperanza St. Riverside, by our City Council Members and Mayor Bailey to those eight senior honorees chosen
