2008 Senior Awards - About Xavier Zamora

Xavier ZamoraXavier Zamora

Xavier Zamora has made a positive difference in the lives of hundreds of Riversiders for many years. He worked for 42 years in the Riverside Unified School District, including 27 years as Arlington High School plant superintendent where he was widely viewed as the unofficial goodwill ambassador for the school.

Mr. Zamora is currently an important and enthusiastic volunteer for the Riverside Parks and Recreation and Community Services Department at the Ysmael R. Villegas Community Center. He has provided outstanding service to the children, teenagers, adults, and senior citizens who attend the programs there.

Mr. Zamora’s kindness and hard work have provided a special role model for our young people, inspiring them to grow in confidence and ability and to participate in the computer labs, music programs, and sports programs offered at the Center.

He is a volunteer member of the Villegas Park Advisory Team where he works year-round with the staff producing special events such as the Spring Egg Hunt, Cinco de Mayo, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas celebrations that bring joy and good times to everyone.
