Mable HarrisMable Harris has been dispensing wit and wisdom, courage, and tender loving care to Riversiders both great and small for ten decades.
She has reached out to help people as young as the seven foster babies put in her safe arms, and as old as the full generation of seniors who have lived at Mount Rubidoux Manor during her 24-year reign there.
Mr. Wally Longshore, who nominated Mable Harris for this award, wrote of the warmth of her fellowship and her willingness to pitch in and help with countless events to benefit others.
He praised her hundreds of donated sweet potato and apples pies, her remarkable courage in single-handedly facing down a deranged man with a knife, and the effort she puts into not one but two vegetable garden plots at the Dale Senior Center. Her independent spirit and active involvement in both her community and her church are an inspiration to all those who know her.
