This is the kick off meeting for the Inland Empire Broadband
Consortia funded through the California Public Utilities
Commission (CPUC) California Advanced Services Fund (CASF) in
order to provide collaborative broadband planning for San
Bernardino and Riverside Counties. Primary goal is to extend
high speed broadband to rural communities and to close the
digital divide through innovative digital inclusion initiatives.
All Riverside and San Bernardino County agencies are invited
to attend.

The City of Riverside's Long Night of Arts and Innovation will
showcase the best of what makes Riverside so exceptional with
individual exhibits, presentations, demonstrations and artistic
performances in downtown venues. As one of the City's signature
events, there will be participation from our universities,
businesses and our performing and visual arts community. All
are designed to entertain, inform and attract participants to
the arts and sciences.

- Participate in the Race to the Top Riverside Unified School District application - presented by David Haglund, Ed.D, Director, Educational Options
The Federal Department of Education has issued a Request for
Proposals within the Race to the Top program. This program is
designed to spur innovative practices and create learning
environments that are designed to significantly improve learning
and teaching through personalization of strategies, tools, and
supports for students and teachers that are aligned with college-
and career-ready standards. RUSD is inviting you to engage in
a conversation about what schools might look like in 2020. Please
watch the videos below and join us at the Grier Pavilion at City
Hall (7th floor) to share your ideas. If you can't join us there,

TriTech SBDC will be holding a special event during the Long Night of Arts and Innovation for entrepreneurs. It will include a fast pitch completion where 10 sixty second pitches will be judged, several short presentations on innovation and entrepreneurship, and a piranha pool where 3 of the winners of the fast pitch will be judged by investors to win a prize.

One of Riverside's longest running and most exciting annual
events arrives with a whole new look as the Mayor's Ball for
Arts and Innovation transforms the sixth floor of Downtown
Riverside's elegant new Citrus Tower into a celebration unlike
any other. The event highlights the City's finest artists and
arts organizations, along with the technology, research and
education that have helped make Riverside the Most Intelligent
City in the World.

Join us for this year's Citrus Classic Bike Ride. The event
features five great routes to choose from! Riders and the
community can enjoy dozens of vendor booths, local bands, food,
and festivities during the event. Event proceeds will directly
impact the student school experience, with the goals of
engaging students and motivating them to attend and be
successful in school and this, increase graduation rates.

Please join us October 8, 2012 for the SmartRiverside Sixth
Annual Charity Golf Tournament at the Victoria Country Club in
Riverside. In 2007, SmartRiverside inaugurated the annual tournament
as the key fund-raising event to continuously support and expand the
umbrella of programs and services the non-profit organization offers.
Last year's event, held on Columbus Day at the Victoria Country Club,
had over 120 participants from all over the country. The event was
also supported by over 100 corporate sponsors and contributors from
the greater Riverside area.
