About the Human Resources Board (HRB)

City View Nine members act in an advisory capacity to the City Council on matters related to personnel such as employment opportunities, equal employment opportunity and policies and procedures impacting Human Resources among other issues.

The Board meets with different departments within the City on a regular basis to receive department profiles related to activities and staffing. The Board meets at 4:00 p.m. the first Monday of each month in the City Hall 2nd Floor Conference Room. Time commitment may include 2-3 hours per month.

Board meetings are always open to the public. An opportunity for public comment is provided at each meeting in which feedback may be provided to the Board for the purpose of carrying out its powers, duties, and functions under the Charter and the Riverside Municipal Code. City of Riverside employees are encouraged to utilize their chain of command to resolve personnel issues, as well as other informal and formal administrative processes identified in Memoranda of Understanding and Personnel Policies and Procedures, to include the HR Board, to address personnel matters.

Human Resources Board Mission Statement
The Human Resources Board is committed to its dual charge as representatives of the citizens of the City of Riverside to make recommendations to the City Council specific to personnel rules and regulations, including, but not limited to, review of equal employment plans for the City of Riverside's Departments. The Human Resources Board also acts in an advisory capacity to the Human Resources Department on matters concerning personnel administration to ensure a safe, inclusive, and productive work environment, which enhances services to the community.
