Indiana Autumn Ridge Apartments

Since 1998, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Riverside, in conjunction with the Riverside Housing Development Corporation (RHDC), has been purchasing fourplexes along Indiana Avenue between Jackson and Monroe streets in order to transform an area once sighted as "an absolute mess " and "a nightmare on Indiana" into an attractive, well-managed development.

HousingThe Indiana Avenue Apartments Phase II is underway and will be completed by August 2009. Phase II will include the rehabilitation of 32 apartment units in addition to a manager’s office. Eight of the units will be restricted for Supportive Housing Program, which are reserved for tenants who are chronically homeless and will be receiving on going case management as well as other supportive services.

These units will be scattered among the other rehabilitated units throughout the project. The remaining 24 affordable apartment units will be restricted to low to moderate income households whose incomes do not exceed 120 percent of the area median income. The renovation of the entire project also includes gating the area, planting trees, flowers, and other landscaping, and installing solar panels.
