Project Status & News
- The Environmental Phase was just completed on February 8, 2010.
- The next step is to begin the Final Design Phase. During Final Design,
the details of the project will be refined. While our engineers iron out
the design specifics, the Acquisition / Relocation process, also called the
Right of Way Phase, will begin.
- The Right of Way Phase runs from April 2010 to approximately August 2011. Affected
property owners will be contacted by a neutral Appraiser to discuss
appraisal of their property. This process may take 18 months.
- Assuming all state and federal funding proposed to pay for the project
is ultimately available to build it, construction is tentatively scheduled
to start in January 2012.
Description
The Streeter Avenue Grade Separation project will lower
Streeter Avenue under the railroad tracks. Two bridges will be
built - one to carry the railroad tracks across Dewey Avenue and
one to carry tracks over Streeter Avenue. The project will close
Appleton Street at Streeter Avenue and build new roadways
between Streeter Avenue and Appleton Street to provide access to
the neighborhoods.
Construction Schedule
Construction is planned to begin in early 2012.
Project Benefits & Facts
