Firefighters Rescue Horse on the Freeway |

City of Riverside fire units responded to assist CHP with the extrication of a horse from an overturned horse trailer on the freeway. Units arrived on scene to find multiple CHP units, a full size pickup truck parked on the side of the transition road, a tow truck and a two stall horse trailer resting on its side.
All occupants were out of their vehicles, but 1 horse was trapped in the horse trailer.
Fire personnel on scene coordinated with the owners of the horse and requested a large animal veterinarian to assist with the extrication. Upon arrival of the veterinarian, firefighters were able to extricate the horse with no injuries.
