Festival of Lights
The 20th Annual Riverside Festival of Lights on Main Street Riverside is your chance to experience the most dazzling holiday spectacle south of the North Pole. The Festival offers five weeks of holiday merriment in Downtown Riverside from November 23 to January 5, celebrating the season with family activities that include holiday decorations and lights on The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa, Mission Inn Avenue and on City-owned buildings; the Inland Empire’s first outdoor ice skating rink; horse-drawn carriage rides; holiday-themed vendors; family-friendly live entertainment; and of course, Santa Claus.
Pick Power Breakfast: Bill Hendricksen
The Pick Group, Young Professionals of Riverside will host its monthly Pick Power Breakfast featuring Bill Hendricksen, CEO of Lineage Logistics on Thursday, December 20 at 7:30 a.m. at the Victoria Club (2521 Arroyo Dr., Riverside, CA 92506). Lineage Logistics is the third largest temperature-controlled warehousing and logistics company in North America. As CEO, Mr. Hendricksen oversees all facets of the company’s cold storage operations in the Inland Empire and nationwide.
Culver Center Thursday Night Holiday Film Series
The Culver Center Thursday Night Holiday Film Series will screen “The Nightmare Before Christmas” on December 20 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Culver Center Screening Room (3834 Main St., Riverside, CA 92501). Venturing where no film has gone before, Tim Burton’s quirky and charming musical combines the extraordinary artistry of stop-motion animation with state–of–the–art technology to create a magical realm where fantastic characters come to life. Jack Skellington, the Halloween Pumpkin King, kidnaps Santa and takes it upon himself to deliver ghoulish Christmas presents to all the little boys and girls.
A Christmas Story at the Fox
Celebrate the holidays at the Fox (3801 Mission Inn Ave., Riverside, CA 92501) with a special screening of the great American Christmas Comedy, “A Christmas Story” on Friday, December 21 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at Fox Box Office and Ticketmaster. General Admission $9, Seniors and Students $6.
Guns vs. Hoses Charity Water Polo Match
Riverside Water Polo announces its first Guns vs. Hoses Charity Water Polo Match at the Riverside Aquatics Complex (4800 Magnolia Ave., Riverside, CA 92506). Members of the Riverside Police Department and the Riverside Fire Department will take to the pool for a charity water polo match to collect Christmas toys for Riverside children. Bring an unwrapped toy valued at $5 or more as entry to the event. All toys collected will be donated to a local
charity serving Riverside area children.
