The 20th Annual Riverside
Festival of Lights on Main
Street Riverside is your chance
to experience the most dazzling
holiday spectacle south of the
North Pole. The Festival offers
five weeks of holiday merriment
in Downtown Riverside from
November 23 to January 5,
celebrating the season with
family activities that
include holiday decorations and
lights on The Mission Inn Hotel
& Spa, Mission Inn Avenue and on
City-owned buildings; the Inland
Empire’s first outdoor ice
skating rink; horse-drawn
carriage rides; holiday-themed
vendors; family-friendly live
entertainment; and of course,
Santa Claus.

Riverside Arts Walk
The first Thursday of every
month is Riverside Arts Walk, a
free community event that
celebrates the diversity of arts
and culture in Riverside and the
Inland Empire. This Thursday,
December 6 from 6 p.m. to 9
p.m., visit over 22 downtown
locations, including museums,
galleries and studios,
presenting an eclectic mix of
visual and performing arts. Arts
Walk is the perfect place to do
some of your holiday shopping
with many vendors featuring
unique and beautifully crafted
pieces from local artists.

Holiday Happenings
City of Riverside Parks and
Recreation is proud to present
“Holiday Happenings” a series of
eleven festive events happening
all over the City of Riverside
throughout the month of
December. Come celebrate the
season at the La Sierra
Community Center (5215 La Sierra
Ave., Riverside 92503) on
December 7 from 6:30 p.m. to
8:00 p.m. as talented Riverside
youth ages 4-17 perform their
best singing and dancing numbers
at the community "Holidaze Dance
Review." Families can also enjoy
“Breakfast with Santa” at Reid
Park (701 Orange St., Riverside
92501) on December 8 from 8 a.m.
to noon.

Department bring you the 2nd
Annual Tamale Fest & Soccer
Tournament at the Riverside
Family YMCA (4020 Jefferson St.,

from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Music,
sports, and of course, tamales
are all part of the fun in an
effort to bring our community
closer together and foster new
connections between our
neighbors.

Annual Victorian Christmas Open
House
Step back in time and experience
the spirit of a traditional
Victorian Christmas one would
have seen in the 1890s. This
family-friendly celebration will
be held at the Heritage House
(8193 Magnolia Ave., Riverside
92504) from noon to 4 p.m. and
features Father Christmas, a
unique range of musical
entertainment, home-baked
sweets, and hot-mulled cider.
Fresh-cut greens, handmade
wreaths, and mistletoe will
adorn the home and one can enjoy
making holiday ornaments and
decoupage a Christmas keepsake
box. The event is free and open
to the public and free parking
is available at the YWCA across
the street.

take the Oath of Office as
Riverside’s new Mayor at the
City Council Meeting on December
