Indian
Inter-Tribal Heritage on Friday, September 23, from noon
– 5 p.m.,
at Sherman Indian High School (9010 Magnolia Avenue).

Wheel-A-Bration celebrates
Riverside’s green successes
Building on the efforts that led to Riverside’s Emerald
City
designation, all residents are invited to take part in
the Emerald City
Wheel-A-Bration on Saturday, September 24.
Come on foot, scooter,
stroller, bicycle, wheel-chair, skateboard or any other
non-fossil-fueled,
wheeled conveyance. Participants are encouraged to start
from some
point within easy walking distance (perhaps one or two
miles from
City Hall) at about 9 a.m. and walk or roll to City
Hall, arriving

Riverside’s Mariachi Festival
A festival celebrating Hispanic culture and the genre of
Mariachi
music is returning to Fairmount Park on Saturday,
September 24, from
9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Riverside’s Mariachi Festival is a
family-friendly event
that will showcase Mexican music, ballet folklorico
dance, cultural

Jon Secada and RCC Vocal
Jazz Ensemble at the Fox
Jon Secada, Cuban-American singer, songwriter and
multi-platinum
recording artist, will perform at the Fox Performing
Arts Center on
Saturday, September 24, at 8 p.m. Joining Jon on stage
for a
performance of a selected song will be the RCC Vocal
Jazz
Ensemble “RCCerious”, with whom he has worked when
giving his master classes at Riverside Community

with two fantastic shows. Blues legend, B.B. King, and

Kenny Wayne Shepherd will perform at 7:30 p.m. on

p.m.,
Rock n’ Roll legend, Leon Russell, and special guest Dr.
John
will come to the Fox for a one-night performance.

First Sundays program
starts up new season
First Sundays in Downtown Riverside offers a variety of
fun,
hands-on art and cultural activities for children and
teens on the
first Sunday of each month. The program runs October to
May,
from 1 – 4 p.m., with no programming in January. These

and FREE learning opportunities are offered at six
participating locations throughout the Downtown
