18^th Annual Festival of Lights
Switch-on Ceremony

Join thousands of Riversiders and visitors at Mission Inn Avenue and
Orange Street in downtown Riverside on Friday, November 26, at
6:15 p.m. for the 18^th Annual Riverside Festival of Lights Switch-on
Ceremony.  This event is presented by Duane and Kelly Roberts,
owners of The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa.  More than three and a half
million twinkling lights and a spectacular fireworks display will light up
the sky in Riverside on this special evening.

Thanksgiving weekend at the Fox

On Friday, November 26, at 8 p.m., following the Switch-on Ceremony,
Michael Cavanaugh appears with the Corona Symphony Pops Orchestra
to pay tribute to legendary artist Billy Joel.  The 82^nd Airborne All-American
Chorus takes the stage in their maroon berets, ascots and highly spit-
shined jump boots on Saturday, November 27, at 3 p.m.

 Spark a Smile by giving a toy

During the Festival of Lights Switch-on Ceremony on Friday,
November 26, from 5 to 10 p.m., the City of Riverside Firefighters,
ABC Channel 7, and the Riverside Transit Agency are asking for
help to stuff a RTA bus with donated toys for children of all ages.
Just look for the bus parked at the Riverside Public Library parking
lot off Orange Street across from The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa.

 Riverside Aquatic Complex
nearing completion

When the Riverside Aquatics Complex opens in January 2011, it will rank
among the best competition pools in the world.  The Riverside Aquatics
Complex will feature a 65-meter pool that can accommodate up to three
simultaneous activities.  It includes seven diving boards ranging from one
meter to a 10-meter platform with grandstand seating, two hydraulic lifts
for disabled access and a state-of-the-art electronic scoreboard.
