Riverside chosen as one of
world’s most tech-savvy cities

For the third year in a row, the City of Riverside has been chosen for
a Smart21 Communities Award, which recognizes the top 21 tech-
savvy cities worldwide.  Riverside was one of only six U.S. cities to
receive the recognition.  The Smart21 designation, awarded by the
Intelligent Community Forum, recognizes Riverside for its commitment
to broadband, citywide innovation and its knowledge-economy.

Measure V on November 2 ballot

On July 27, the Riverside City Council placed Measure V on the
November 2 ballot.  Measure V is a hotel tax paid only by hotel
and motel guests.  Riverside residents, homeowners and property
owners - who are not hotel/motel guests - are NOT taxed.

Department is bringing carnivals, costumes, parties and more
to Riverside residents.  Join in this ghoulish family-friendly fun
at Villegas Park on Thursday, October 28, Reid Park on Friday,
October 29, La Sierra Park on Saturday, October 30, and
Bryant Park on Sunday, October 31.

 33rd Annual Mission Inn Run

The Mission Inn Foundation invites you to strap on your running
shoes and head downtown with your family and friends for a day
of fun and fitness on Sunday, November 14, at the 33rd Annual
Mission Inn Run.  There is a run for everyone from kid’s runs
