 State budget slates $10 million
for UCR Medical School

On October 8, 2010, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed
the Budget Act of 2010 providing $10 million in funding for
the School of Medicine at the University of California, Riverside. 
The funding will support start-up costs for the first public medical
school to be developed in California in more than 40 years.

Deep South Extravaganza

From New Orleans to Georgia, the South will rise again in
Riverside on October 23, from 10 a.m. to noon, on the corner
of Main Street near Sixth Street.  Enjoy food tastings, shop the
Downtown Farmers Market or stroll through Main Street while
listening to the strains of New Orleans Jazz and Gospel.

Fall Festivals offer
residents ghoulish fun

The City of Riverside Parks, Recreation and Community
Services Department is bringing carnivals, costumes, parties
and more to Bobby Bonds and Orange Terrace Parks this
Friday, October 22.  Riverside residents are welcome to join
in this ghoulish family-friendly fun from 5 to 8 p.m. at Bobby
Bonds and 6 to 9 p.m. at Orange Terrace.

The Mission Inn Foundation invites you to strap on your running
shoes and head downtown with your family and friends for a day
of fun and fitness on Sunday, November 14, at the 33^rd Annual
