Measure V on November 2 ballot
On July 27, the Riverside City Council placed Measure V
on the
November 2 ballot. Measure V is a hotel tax paid
only by hotel
and motel guests. Riverside residents, homeowners
and property
owners - who are not hotel/motel guests - are NOT taxed.

Race Equality Week
To reaffirm its commitment to building a diverse and
inclusive community,
the City of Riverside will celebrate Race Equality Week
October 12-17.
This year’s theme is “Race: Are We So Different?”
This is the seventh
time the City has been involved in this national week of
awareness
originally conceived by the National League of Cities.

City awarded $5 million hiring
grant for Police Department
The Riverside Police Department has been awarded a $5.14
million
grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, Community
Oriented
Policing Services office. The grant provides funds
to hire 15 full-time,
entry-level police officer positions. The City of
Riverside received
the largest police department award in Southern
California.

Riverside Citrus Classic Bike Ride
On Sunday, October 17, you can put the pedal to the
metal and
support local education at the Riverside Citrus Classic
Bike Ride.
There will be bike rides for all ages and abilities,
live music, food,
vendor booths, beer garden and entertainment. All
rides begin
