Updates on the UCR School of Medicine and the Riverside real estate market provided by local partners

On Thursday, September 27th, city economic development officials took Riverside on the road to update Los Angeles-based commercial real estate executives on the exciting opportunities happening throughout the inland southern California community.

In addition to the City’s incentive and development updates, Riverside-based Lee & Associates Senior Vice President David Mudge gave an overview of what’s been happening in the local real estate market and the trends that he anticipates in the upcoming months. According to Mudge “The office submarket of Downtown Riverside has the lowest vacancy rate (6%) of any submarket in Inland southern California.”

Topping off the presentations was a dynamic update from Dr. Paul Lyons, Senior Associate Dean of Education at the new UC Riverside School of Medicine, who explained how this particular medical program is going to dramatically change the economic future of the Riverside area, creating countless opportunities for residents and businesses.

The Office of Economic Development provides this outreach to Los Angeles and Orange County commercial real estate executives as part of their Economic Development Action Plan.  The team’s next scheduled event will be held in Orange County on November 1, 2012.
