The Leapfrog Group’s annual list of Top Hospitals was announced Dec. 4 in Baltimore, Md. and included for the second time, Kaiser Permanente Riverside Medical Center in Riverside.
Both Kaiser Permanente Riverside Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente Moreno Valley Community Hospital received an “A” rating. The announcement came at Leapfrog’s Annual Meeting, focusing on transparency as the key to improved hospital safety, and Top Hospital Awards.
“This distinction for Riverside Medical Center and Moreno Valley Community Hospital is recognition of the dedication of our physicians and staff who work tirelessly every day to provide the best health care possible to our members and the communities we serve. We are very proud of this distinction,” said Vita Willett, executive director, Kaiser Foundation Hospitals/Health Plan.
Kaiser Permanente Riverside was selected as Top Hospital out of nearly 1200 hospitals participating in the Leapfrog Group’s annual survey. The selection is based on the results of the Leapfrog Group’s annual hospital survey, which measures hospitals’ performance on patient safety and quality, focusing on three critical areas of hospital care: how patients fare, resource use, and management structures in place to prevent errors.
