On Tuesday, June 2, 2009, registered voters of Wards 2, 4, and 6 elected members of the City Council to represent them.  The Semi-Final Official Results are as follows: 

City Council, Ward 2:            Andy Melendrez            2,299      69.02%

                                             Ruben Rasso                   732       21.98%

                                             Ahmad R. Smith               300         9.01%

City Council, Ward 4:            Paul Davis                     4,042      52.43%

                                             Frank Schiavone            3,667      47.57%

City Council, Ward 6:            Nancy E. Hart                 1,299      59.67%

                                             Bill Scherer                        713      32.75%

                                             Ann Alfaro                         165        7.58%

The next Mayoral election will be conducted on November 3, 2009, for a short-term ending June 2012.  All subsequent Mayoral elections will be held in June of United States Presidential election years with runoffs, if required, the following November.

Qualified electors shall be registered voters in the City of Riverside.  There are no minimum residency requirements.
