Special Events is responsible for all City-wide groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings, site dedications, public recognition events and others. They serve as the lead event coordinator and ensure that everything required for the event is in place.
Special events enhance the Riverside lifestyle and provide benefits to the citizens through the creation of unique venues for entertainment that are not normally provided as part of governmental services. Non-profit tax exempt organizations which benefit the community are central to the quality of life in Riverside and they often develop special events that provide services to the residents of the City of Riverside.
Are you planning to host a Special Event in the City of Riverside? Successful events depend on good planning. The Special Event Packet provides instructions to guide and assist you in the preparation and processing of your Special Event Permit. Special Events include neighborhood block parties, parades, festivals/fiestas and walks or any event that would involve a sidewalk or street closure or use of City property.
The type of event and the kinds of activities you are planning may require you to contact other agencies for additional permits such as the Riverside County Health Department, Alcohol Beverage Control or the Riverside Fire Department, to name a few.
