Weatherization Rebate Program Application

The Weatherization Rebate Program is a whole house approach to improving the energy efficiency of residential homes in Riverside Public Utilities’ electric service territory.

The program is open to all RPU residential electric customers.

Rebates are available for attic and exterior wall insulation, Energy Star-rated window and door replacements, whole house fans, attic fans (solar and electric), duct insulation, house envelope and duct sealing, window film, and Cool Roof coatings or products.

What are the Weatherization Program benefits?

By utilizing one, or combinations of, the qualifying conservation efforts, homeowners can greatly increase the energy efficiency of their homes and reduce overall energy consumption.

What qualifies for a rebate, and what are the rebate amounts?

Attic Insulation* R-19 10 ¢ per sq. ft.
R-30+ 15 ¢ per sq. ft.
Exterior Wall Insulation* R-13+ 15 ¢ per sq. ft.
*Rebates will be calculated for nearest R-value

Window Replacement

 Energy Star® rated $1.00 per sq. ft.
Glass & Entry Door Replacement Energy Star® rated $1.00 per sq. ft.
Whole House Fans Installation will not count towards purchase price $200 (limit 1)
Solar-Powered Attic Fan Installation will not count towards purchase price $200 (limit 2)
Electric Attic Vent Fan Installation will not count towards purchase price $50 (limit 2)
Duct Insulation Installation will not count towards purchase price $25 per run (up to $500 max.)
House Envelope Sealing & Duct Sealing (entire system only) Together or separately 50% of project cost (up to $350 max.)
Cool Roof (Coatings or Products) Energy Star® rated $0.20 per sq. ft. (flat or low-sloped)
$0.10 per sq. ft. (steep sloped)
Window Film SHGC of .30 or less $0.50 per sq. ft

Current building code compliance, the choice of improvements, the selection of dealers, the purchase of items and acceptance of materials used, work performed and the payments thereof are the customer's responsibility.

Riverside Public Utilities reserves the right to determine eligibility and modify or discontinue this program without prior notice at its discretion. Program is subject to fund availability.
What do I need to do to receive a rebate?
Complete the Weatherization Rebate Application, attach copies of the dated sales receipt(s), and mail to:

Weatherization Program Guidelines
  • Program is subject to fund availability and may be cancelled at any time.
  • Customers must fulfill all program guidelines, program specific and general RPU program guidelines, to be eligible for incentives.
  • Rebates are based on total square footage purchased at rate indicated in chart above (except for whole house fans, solar and electric attic fans, duct insulation and sealing, and house envelope sealing). Labor, additional parts, and tax are excluded.
  • Products must meet or exceed ratings, and are subject to approval by RPU. ENERGY STAR® rated products can be found at www.energystar.gov.
  • All General Program Guidelines apply.
